The Science Museum of Minnesota seeks an experienced evaluator to lead the assessment of the museum’s teacher professional development programs, as well as other educational programming and exhibitions. Responsibilities: The Evaluation and Research Senior Associate is a creative problem solver who is able to envision valid and reliable methods to answer practice-based questions about the museum visitor's learning experience. S/he will design front-end, formative, and occasionally remedial and summative evaluations that are driven by an understanding of audience needs and learning theory. Manage efficient and reliable data collection and analysis. Build upon existing areas of research at the museum to extend current knowledge about its audiences and contribute to the field of informal science learning. Requirements: Expert-level social science research skills including quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Demonstrated ability to use software-based data analysis tools, preferably SPSS as well as an ability to learn new software quickly. Extensive experience with program and exhibit evaluation. Excellent oral and written communication skills with a flair for making people comfortable in an interview situation. Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to meet tight deadlines. Proven collaborative ability to work on creative projects as part of a team and with individuals. Minimum of 5 years experience in evaluation or educational research with expertise in teacher professional development; background in or familiarity with science learning theory desired. Director, Performance Evaluation. The Network. The Director of Program Evaluation will oversee the design and implementation of the systems, tools and processes needed to collect data about the impact and operation of our enterprise.  This individual will also work with the State Department of Corrections and our partners to help design and conduct an independent evaluation of The NetWork's results and effectiveness.  In addition, the Director will develop metrics and a system for tracking the performance of the enterprise’s internal operations. Evaluator for An Evangelization Gathering, Xcel Energy Center  November 8, 2008. The Archdiocese of St Paul and Minneapolis is planning a one day gathering of over 5000 people to learn about evangelization.  This is the first time that Catholics have ever had a large conference such as this in Minnesota.  Hence it is important that we have an evaluation of the event where response from participants and presenters is collected and reported.
